Welcome at the Burg!
The place to be, with the two must sees of Bruges:
- The Gothic style City hall
- The Basilica of the Holy Blood.
The City Hall
The Gothic style City Hall is one of the oldest buildings with inside one of the most beautiful Gothic Halls.
The Basilica of the Holy Blood
The Basilica of the Holy Blood was built on top of the 12th century Saint Basilica church. The lower church is a fine example of Romanesque architecture.
The relic is kept in an exuberantly decorated shrine made in 1817 by the Bruges goldsmith Jan Crabbe. This shrine is worn every year on Ascension Day during a procession in Bruges.
